Summer Photos

Here's a few photos from our summer! We went camping up at Timothy lake in July. It was a little cold for most of the time but warmed up enough for the kids to play a bit by the lake. I have a little catching up to do on my blog. Summer seems to go so fast that I'm in survival mode when I'm home. I'll try to post some more photos soon.

Earrings

Here's a photo of Grace's new earrings. We took her to the mall last week and got them pierced with some little pink diamonds (not real of course). She cried a little bit after the first ear but was very brave and didn't throw a fit for the second ear. I have to clean around the earrings 2 to 3 times per day which she doesn't like, but the earrings don't seem to bother her and they aren't red or irritated.
We went to a wedding this weekend for Mike's cousin, Alex, and his bride, Megan. It was a beautiful wedding and very honoring to God. The kids did well on Saturday with no nap even though they didn't get to bed until after 11 pm. Only Weston slept well at the hotel as both girls were waking up and crying during the night. Mike and I felt like zombies today and ....why am I still awake right now ...I should be in bed!!! Zombie girl will remove herself from the computer and go to bed right now ;)

The Mask Ba

Here's a few photos I took after the kids made some masks out of cardboard and ribbon. Weston "wrote" (he dictated while I wrote) a story about a boy and his mask. Here's the story:

"The Mask Ba" by Weston Dahl (I'm not sure what "Ba" is, but he insisted it be in there) :)

One day the little boy got a mask from his friend, Da-Jezu. Then he went off hunting with his daddy and his mask tied to his helmet. The boy and his daddy shot a deer. The boy shot the deer with his bow and arrow and the daddy also shot an elk. Jesus helped them to shoot the deer and the elk. On the way home the boy and the daddy were walking on the edge of a logging road and they tripped and fell into a big river. Luckily, there was a police boat on the river and the police saw them fall in. There was also a fire on the river so the fire truck and the ambulance also came. The police officers also were able to get the deer and the elk out of the water. The ambulance carried the daddy and the boy to the hospital so they could get a very important surgery. The mommy came and got them from the hospital and also the little boy's sister.

The End

Cinderella!

Here's a photo of Grace in her "Cinderella" dress. My mom sent it to her in the mail. She wasn't that excited about it until I told her she looked like Cinderella in it. Then she liked the dress so much that she wanted to wear it to church on Sunday.

Little Miss Elsie

Here's a new photo of Little Miss Elsie. She's almost 6 months old now and is playing with toys and bouncing in her Johnny Jump-up. She's a very happy and sweet baby. She naps from about 10am to noon and then again from about 2 pm to 5 or 6pm and then goes to bed at about 8:30 and sleeps until about 7am. Lots of sleep for baby=lots of sleep for mommy :) :) :) No rolling over yet, but I'm sure it won't be long.

Ladybug Snacks

Here's a few photos of Weston with his "ladybug" apple snack. He saw the idea in his Big Backyard magazine that Jack and Elaine (Mike's aunt and uncle) gave him for his birthday. He enjoyed gluing all the raisins and cheerios to the apple with peanut butter and then he enjoyed eating it!
He has also eaten real bugs recently! We were on a picnic the other day and he picked up an ant and ate it! His Papa Craig has been telling him you can eat ants for survival, so he thought he would give it a try :)

Battle at Kruger

This video is long, but worth the time to watch it to the end. Enjoy!

Pinto and his sidekick

This is a photo of "Pinto" and his little sidekick freely roaming our neighborhood. They both belong to some neighbors of ours who seem to think it is okay to just let your pit bull run free. Needless to say, I don't think it's a good idea and neither does the animal control officer. Pinto may not live in this neighborhood much longer ;)

She's definately 2!

I love this photo of Grace running around in Bend. They were so tired of sitting still for pictures that they had to run some energy out for awhile. The shoes she's wearing are shoes that were mine when I was her age.
Grace is definately showing her "2"ness lately. Sometimes I feel at such a loss as to how to respond to the drama and crying. She is so emotional over little things that it is hard for me to be patient with her. I've heard that this is how girls tend to be...I'm sure I did the same to my mom :)

Great Photos

Here's a photo that my brother took of the kids when we were in Bend for Weston's birthday (I'm just now getting around to putting it on the blog). Of course he had to take a ton of photos to get a couple good ones with all three of them looking straight ahead. It was pretty cold outside so he also had to Photoshop Grace's nose so it wasn't bright red :) My brother is pretty talented photographer and has a website displaying all his photos. I will add his link to my blog so others can browse his photos if they'd like. He's in South Korea as a helicopter pilot with the Army right now so you will see several photos of Korea under the "travel" section.
